OUR MISSION
Our Mission is to give everyone the opportunity to grow in their relationship with God and with the body of Christ, to make disciples and leaders, and show God’s love to all. We want to bring the Gospel to everyone, regardless of past or current circumstances, and to allow God to turn us all into the leaders He has called us to be.
OUR Vision
With God's direction and vision of church leadership, the church has begun renovations on our current facilities in an effort to minister to the growing needs of our society and increased numbers attending IFUPC. A long range master plan has been put together which will guide our steps and help us to maintain focus as we endeavor to grow the church's reach. Property has been purchased in accordance with the church master plan to provide a Family Life Center and future enlarged sanctuary. You have a special invitation to come grow with us!
CULTIVATE
We intentionally nurture faith, character, and relationships so people can grow deeply rooted in Christ and flourish in every season of life.
SATURATE
We fill our church, our community, and our lives with the presence, love, and Word of God until it overflows into everything we do.
EMPOWER
We equip and encourage people with truth, purpose, and spiritual authority to live boldly, serve faithfully, and impact their world for God’s glory.
OUR BELIEFS
-
We believe in the absolute oneness of God. Scripture reveals one eternal, sovereign God Who alone is worthy of worship. Iuka First United Pentecostal Church is firmly grounded in the biblical truth that God is one, not divided, and fully revealed through His Word. Because we uphold the Bible as completely true and trustworthy, we rely on its clear declarations concerning the nature of God. From Genesis to Revelation, God openly reveals Himself to humanity, declaring, “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior” (Isaiah 43:11).
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is the visible image of the invisible God and the fullness of God revealed in human form (Colossians 1:15; 2:9). Salvation is found in Him alone. The God Who created all things was manifested in flesh for the redemption of humanity (1 Timothy 3:16). Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man, and His identity as the LORD of the Old Testament is inseparable from His role as the Savior revealed in the New Testament.
-
God is a Spirit (John 4:24), unlimited in presence, knowledge, and power. The same one God Who acted as Creator, Redeemer, and Savior now works in the lives of believers through the Holy Spirit. God is not divided, and His work as the Holy Spirit cannot be separated from His work as Creator or Redeemer. Scripture teaches that the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, and Christ in us are one and the same (Romans 8:9). The Holy Spirit is God active in and among His people above us all, through us all, and in us all.
-
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It contains no mistakes and speaks with authority in all matters of faith and life. Written over centuries by more than forty authors and compiled into sixty-six books, Scripture forms a unified and harmonious message revealing God’s faithfulness, His redemptive plan, and His desire for relationship with humanity.
-
Humanity was created in the image of God and designed to live in fellowship with Him. God granted mankind the freedom to choose, and through sin, humanity became separated from its Creator. In an unmatched display of love and grace, God robed Himself in flesh and entered the world to restore what was broken. Through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, atonement was made for sin, and access to God was restored. Because Christ took our place, we can now be reconciled to God and experience new life in Him. We believe Jesus taught that new birth comes through water and the Spirit (John 3:5). Repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit are essential elements of entering into the New Covenant and becoming a disciple of Christ. On the Day of Pentecost, when the first believers asked how to be saved, Peter responded with clarity: “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38). This message continues to guide us as we follow Christ today.
-
The Church is the Body of Christ, with Jesus Christ as its head. It is not defined by buildings or programs, but by a community of believers who place their faith in Him. The mission of the Church is to glorify God, make disciples, share the message of Jesus with the world, and serve others with love and compassion both locally and globally.
